Mafloc CAT2490

Specific flocculant for water purification and sludge dehydration, made of catanionic Acrylamide Copolymer in emulsion. It has a yellowish milky liquid appearance, of a Cationic character with very high Ionicity and with a density of 1.05 grs/cm³, viscosity less than 3000 cps (viscosity at 1.0% 2500-3000 cps) and High molecular weight.

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE

For most applications, the product must be dissolved in water prior to use. Dissolution occurs rapidly if conditions are suitable.
It is important for a rapid and adequate dissolution of the product to achieve effective contact of it with the water from the first moment. It is recommended to pour the product into a volume of stirring water in the form of a fine stream over the vortex. Agitation during the pouring time should be vigorous, although it can be reduced afterwards to complete the dissolution.
The low viscosity of the product allows you to easily control its dosage. It is important to prevent water from entering the product circuit, so it is recommended to use non-return valves. If this were to happen, gels could form that would clog the pipes or the dosing pump itself.
It is recommended not to prepare solutions with a concentration greater than 3%. For more concentrated solutions, there is greater difficulty in homogenizing and manipulating them due to the high viscosity developed.
The stability of the product solution depends on various factors: quality of the water used (hardness, conductivity and pH), temperature, concentration, etc. It is recommended to prepare the solution and consume it in the following hours. A loss of viscosity of the solution indicates that it is degrading. In this situation the dilution is still useful, although it must now be overdosed to achieve the desired performance.
The great ease of dissolution of the product allows it, under very specific conditions, to be dosed directly without prior dissolution.

HANDLING, STORAGE AND STABILITY

Take the usual precautions when handling any chemical substance. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Although it does not give off toxic vapors, it is recommended to use it in properly ventilated places.
In the event of a spill, affected surfaces can become extremely slippery. Do not use water to clean affected areas.
Keep the container containing the product closed to avoid external contamination. Water should not fall on the product, as it would cause gel formation and thickening.
In the case of long-standing products, the product may show a slight phase separation, which is easily reversed by moderate stirring. Gentle mechanical agitation is recommended, never violent.
Compressed air should not be used for this use either.

The product is considered valid for application up to 6 months after its manufacture, although it is recommended to consume it during the first 3 or 4 months. Despite this, longer storage times do not imply the invalidity of the product. Storage conditions are important; It is recommended to do it in a covered place and at a cool and constant temperature. Avoid extreme temperatures (0 ºC – 40 ºC).
